About Us

Our History

Coombe Community Hall was the former village Sunday School building. The building was originally built by villagers in the early 1900s and so the village had a vested interest in its legacy, so the lease on the hall was taken over by Coombe Community Trust in 2010.

The building was then refurbished with the aid of funding from the Cornwall Development Company (Local Action for Rural Communities Programme), Cornwall Community Foundation (Grassroots Grants), Awards 4 All Lottery Funding and private donations and funds raised by the village of Coombe. The building was opened as a community hall in October 2011. A village horse show and a village fete have been established and the trust also looks after the playing field with playground and play equipment, as well as the village tennis courts.

The Trust operates a full and varied activities programme in the hall which is also available for private hire for meetings, parties and other functions. It is a perfect size for large family gatherings and children’s parties and large enough for coffee mornings and jumble sales etc. There is enough equipment for luncheons or dinners and we charge reasonable hire rates.
